The director of casting noticed her during one of Lucy's drama classes. The casting director contacted Lucy and asked her to an audition. She auditioned for the role of a young Beatrix who plays the main character in the 2006 biographical comedy about a family called Miss Potter. Lucy got the role the film after a series of workshops and auditions. This marked the beginning of her acting career. In 2007 she was selected for one of the Young Artist Award nominee for the best Performance in Feature Film by a Young Supporting Actress. Transamerica, a critically acclaimed film comedy-drama that was released in the same year was her debut on big screen. 2004 was the year she also made her TV debut as a part of the four-season Law & Order Criminal Intent episode.
